Victory again!

Team Owlet won again! BYU's College of Engineering and the Rollins Entrepreneurial Center sponsored Student Innovator of the Year, a competition for new product ideas. After a day of explaining the idea at a booth we were chosen to be one of 8 finalists to pitch at another event. After this second pitch we won $1000 for being crowd favorite and $5000 for 1st place! The judges were men from industry and they were impressed with the vision and scope of our project.

Owlet Video

Check out our video! We didn't win Tech Titans but our video is still pretty awesome.

Thanks to Josh Weathers for being an awesome one-man film crew. Also thanks to Meredith Simpson for her testimonial and to Malcolm and Laura Felt for letting us film their adorable baby.

Success!

We pitched our idea as part of the Miller New Venture Challenge and we won 2 out of the 4 categories! (http://www.millernvc.com/blog/) We were both crowd favorite and investor favorite. We can't wait to turn this success into further development of our product. Thanks to all our supporters!

Our Product

The Owlet Baby Monitor is...

...a proactive health monitor for sleeping infants that alerts parents if their child stops breathing or has irregular vital signs.
This means it acts as monitor for SIDS, respiratory problems, and other health concerns. It will provide peace of mind to parents and safety to their children.

Owlet uses a pulse-ox monitor around your baby's foot and connects to your smart phone, sounding an alarm if your child is in danger.
